Natural Mineral Water comes from naturally occurring springs that produce water containing minerals, or other dissolved substances, that alter its taste or give it a potentially therapeutic value.

This type of water obtained from mineral springs has long been considered important and not only because of its healthful properties. Many years ago the idea of using water from springs for external and internal use became a valuable commercial enterprise, in the form of spas and health resorts. Wealthy patrons of these establishments would go on breaks to “take the waters” – meaning that they would drink bathe in the water.

Historical mineral springs were often decorated with elaborate stone-works, including artificial pools, retaining walls, colonnades and roofs. Sometimes these would take the form of fanciful “Greek temples”, gazebos or pagodas. Others were entirely enclosed in houses built directly over the springs. While spas are still popular today, they tend to include a range of other activities and therapies, such as meditation, massage, exercise programmes, dietary regimes and more.

But, really, you can experience all the benefits right in your own home, without going to the expense of a spa holiday. You can be assured of the quality and purity of natural spring water we supply, and feel confident about using it for everything, from drinking, to washing, and more.

Mineral water is one of the best ways to provide the body with an element it requires for its health. But, why do we need it in the first place?

Imagine your body as a container that is three quarters full of water. Every part of the body is made up of cells, and they are filled with a water solution of proteins, lipids, amino acids and other elements. The reason for the presence of all this water is that all the reactions that keep us alive are electric in nature and water is the medium in which these physicochemical reactions happen. The body needs electrolytes (minerals like: sodium, chloride, potassium, and bicarbonate) for its basic functions. When the body lacks water, the electrolysis cannot happen and our cells dry out and die. Doctors are well aware that dehydration, second only to oxygen deprivation, robs life fastest. Minor dehydration – not enough to cause death – is both the result and the hidden cause of many illnesses. We need to keep our cells hydrated in order to maintain our body’s electrochemical balance and stay alive.

Water also dissolves toxins and helps the body flush them away, lubricates cartilages that buffer the joints, transports the oxygen we breathe to all our organs. And when you have a headache, back pain, muscle spasm, stomach ache, or feel depressed without obvious reason, drinking plenty of mineral water can be hugely beneficial.

Mineral Water Suppliers brings the sportier among you some useful information about thirst and hints to keep you healthy.

Physical activity in warm weather causes you to lose moisture through perspiration. But you should drink water before you feel thirsty. The reason for this is that if you are thirsty it means you’re already slightly dehydrated. Carry mineral water with you everywhere, to eliminate the possibility of drinking tap water. If you work out or play sport, you can lose around one and a half litres of fluid for every hour of exercise. An early symptom of dehydration is fatigue, which causes a significant drop in sporting performance. It may also make you susceptible to cramps, heat stress and heat stroke.

We recommend, therefore that you avoid starting exercise dehydrated. Drink plenty for several hours beforehand. If you are well hydrated you should be able to pass a volume of clear urine a while before exercise. An hour before you start running or working out, drink at least two cups of water and at least 150ml every 15 minutes during exercise. Take advantage of any breaks to drink plenty. And re-hydrate yourself at the end of the program.

You can figure out for yourself if you’ve drunk enough by weighing yourself before and after exercise. A loss of one kilogram is equivalent to about one litre of lost fluid. Mineral Water Suppliers can give you the ideal solution (pun intended) for your perfect fitness regime.

Mineral Water was probably originally used for medicinal purposes before the beginning of recorded history. It is known that it was used as remedy for various ailments by the ancient Greeks and Romans. It was not until 77 AD, though that Pliny wrote about the mineral springs in various parts of Europe. The Romans discovered thermal springs of Italy. As the empire expanded they founded many other celebrated springs in Europe, notably the hot sulphur springs of Aachen (Aix-la-Chapelle) and Baden-Baden, in West Germany as well as possibly at Spa, in Belgium and at Bath, in England.

In the United States, the native American indians knew about the water and its benefits. Famously, the friendly Mohawk tribe invited Sir William Johnson to bathe in Rock Spring, Saratoga, in 1778. In was not until the late 19th century that Mineral spas became fashionable. American mineral springs have been much less extensively developed than those of Europe, where scientific research into springs is more advanced and widespread. However, in 1935 New York State purchased the an area of Saratoga Springs, made it a state reservation, and set up a research institute in balneology. In 1921, Arkansas Hot Springs, believed by some to have been the “Fountain of Youth” sought by Ponce de Leon, was made a national park.

Who knows, though, the Mineral Water we use today may have its source in the actual “Fountain of Youth” — wherever it’s located.

Mineral Water Suppliers have played a key role in the evolution of the soft drinks industry. Fizzy pop and other flavoured water can trace their history back to the water found in natural springs. The first non-carbonated soft drinks appeared in the 17th century and were originally made from water and lemon juice sweetened with honey. In 1676, the Compagnie de Limonadiers of Paris was granted exclusive rights to sell lemonade soft drinks. Thirsty Parisians bought their drinks from street vendors who carried tanks of the stuff on their backs.

Here are some fizzy facts. Englishmen Doctor Joseph Priestley created the first drinkable man-made glass of carbonated water in 1767. In 1810, the first US patent was issued for the “means of mass manufacture of imitation mineral waters” to Simons and Rundell of Charleston, South Carolina. However, carbonated drinks didn’t achieve great popularity for another 22 years, when John Mathews invented his apparatus for the making carbonated water. His invention became hugely popular in the USA and was known as the soda fountain. American pharmacists selling mineral waters began to add medicinal and flavourful herbs to unflavoured mineral water. The ingredients they used included birch bark, dandelion, sarsaparilla, and fruit extracts. People soon wanted to take their “health” drinks home with them and a soft drink bottling industry grew from then onwards.

Mineral Water is said to be better for our skin for many reasons. First, its high silica content strengthens the spongy cells in between collagen and elastin fibres, which plumps up the skin and slows the formation of wrinkles. This is why some women only drink such water and even use it to wash themselves. Here are some effective tips for using it in your daily beauty regime. Besides drinking it, of course.

Use it between cleansing and moisturizing. Instead of washing and rinsing your face, a more economical method is to soak your cotton wool and give your face a once over thorough wipe after cleansing. Some women like to apply their foundation or eye shadow wet. Instead of tap water, why not apply them using this water? You can use it as a refreshing spay for your face by putting some in an atomiser. While you can buy commercial sprays containing this water it is, of course, cheaper and just as beneficial, to make your own. Many women believe that washing their hair with it makes a great difference. If your hair looks a little dull, spray it lightly and blow dry again to revive products already in the hair. This will to revitalise your hairstyle.

So, Mineral Water not only tastes good and is good for your health, but can help you make the most of your daily beauty treatments.

Natural mineral water has dissolved mineral salts and can be flat or sparkling. There are numerous places around the world where you can get naturally effervescent mineral water. Water with mineral contents can be very healthy and people use it to treat different medical conditions or just to maintain their body in good health. Seltzer on the other hand can be either effervescent or artificially carbonated water. Club soda is also artificially carbonated water and the added minerals salts in it are sodium bicarbonate, potassium bicarbonate, sodium citrate, disodium phosphate or sodium chloride. Soda water can be club soda, or just carbonated water. Some people prefer tonic water. It has bitter lemon or lime taste and is made from carbonated water with added quinine and sweetener. The sweetener is added, because quinine has a naturally bitter taste. When tonic water was first introduced it had large amounts of quinine in it and was used to prevent malaria back in the days. Nowadays tonic water is used as a mixer most of the time. All of those soft drinks are great for you and will keep you hydrated at all times. But the best one is the mineral water – it has all the ingredients you need to be healthy, take advantage of our great offers on natural mineral water today!

Mineral Water is the new soda according to the Wall Street Journal. Some of the most favourite soda drinks have decreased their sales a lot this year. We say – it was about time. We have shared with you so many facts about the benefits of drinking water that we are certainly overjoyed with these new numbers. People have started drinking more water and sports drinks and this means they are bettering their diets! The big names Coca Cola, Pepsi Cola, Sprite, Diet Coke and 7Up are suffering this year because people prefer drinking water instead of the sugary carbonated drinks. Some of them are diet, others are caffeine free, but they are still not natural products. It is way better to drink a cup of water or a sports drink than a soda pop. People did not have a big variety of drinks years ago, and they got addicted to these sweet caffeinated soda drinks. But little by little, products like Gatorade, Smart and Vitamin Water came on the market and people started buying them and in time realizing that they feel much better and are in fact better hydrated. We are more than pleased to read this new statistic and hope that more and more people will turn to the better choice when it comes to their drinking habits.

Concentrate on being healthy this year and drink mineral water – you will soon feel all the positive outcomes.

This month on the 13th a classic and truly spectacular writer, Robert Luis Stevenson, was born and we would like to celebrate it with delicious mineral water. With the weather continuously getting cooler and outdoor activities drawing to a minimum, it is easy to become bored as you stay at home in front of the television. So here is a grand suggestion, cuddle up with one of Stevenson’s great books, whether you are an adventurer and want to grab Treasure Island or perhaps are looking for something more on the dark side such as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, you will certainly find something to fit your mood. He is truly a spectacular writer of the 18th century and is praised not only by his readers but fellow writers as well. Born in Scotland in 1850 Stevenson didn’t only stick to writing best sellers, but also wrote poetry, essays, and short stories and even did quite a bit of travelling and wrote about the places he visited.

There is nothing better than a great read, and in these technical days where everyone is focused on the television, computer, or Smartphone, people forget that. Take some time out of your day to read and be taken to a world that no movie or computer game can take you. Grab a glass of mineral water and sit down with Robert Luis Stevenson, you will be amazed by the world that he will show you.
